CAD Simplified is your expert resource for architectural software training
Training Expert, Founder / CEO
Since 1996, Zak has been teaching AutoCAD to students and professionals in the Architecture and Interior Design industries. in 2000, Zak moved to San Francisco, and started his first company 3-define offering 3d Modeling and rendering services. Zak worked on various projects like the Academy of Sciences animation with Sean Ahlquist of Proces2.
in 2004, Zak established CAD Simplified, focusing on training courses in AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp. He also taught 2d and 3d courses at University of Berkeley Extension, Academy of Art University, and offered custom courses for the American Society of Interior Designers.
CAD Simplified became an Authorized Training Center by Autodesk in 2014, offering regular monthly certified classes in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and more.
Chris Becker worked at the Academy of Art University’s Interior Architecture department for 11 years, providing students the support they need for their projects using various software like AutoCAD, 3ds MAX, Revit and SketchUp.
With passion for 3D modeling and 3D Printing, Chris decided to join Zak at CAD Simplified. Chris became a Certified AutoCAD Professional in 2014, and today he is the main AutoCAD SketchUP Rhino teacher for the company.
Chris also loves helping companies with their IT needs, setting up computers, networks and printers, making everything work smoothly.
He also helps inventors with their industrial designs by modeling their project on Inventor or Rhino, providing rapid prototyping and preparing their designs for 3D Printing. He also works on promotional material for Kickstarter campaigns.
I just completed two CAD classes with Chris. He enjoys teaching and is very skilled in CAD. He never made me feel inadequate and is patient with his students. I’m old school though I’m leaving with the knowledge and confidence to further my skills.
The new facility is beautiful, professional and very convenient to the Bart.
Zak is an amazing tutor. I am learning Revit – from scratch… no previous CAD system experience AT ALL. After one session, I felt calm and knew I could learn this program – not like the panicked way I entered his office.
It was such a relief to be able to put the responsibility of my learning Revit into someone else’s hands. His tutoring service is definitely well worth the money. It is a great investment.
Zak is a great tutor! He’s definitely up on the latest version and techniques in AutoCAD. Like several of his other reviewers, I’m in the Interior Design program at UC Berkeley Extension. I was falling behind after 5 weeks and feeling lost. After a 2 hour session with Zak, I felt much more confident about being able to complete this course successfully. His approach is streamlined and logical and super time-saving! He even answered questions for me by text after our session! I really think he should teach this course at UCBX. I recommended him to the Director of the program.
I have had the pleasure of working with Zak. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to software programs, such as Revit, AutoCAD, 3ds Max, Google SketchUP, and the Adobe Suite. His training is very effective. I believe that it’s one thing to know a program and it’s another to be able to teach it and Zak has both. He is very patient and sees each student as an individual who has a different way of learning. He works with you until you feel confident that you can perform well on your own. I absolutely recommend him as the best teacher/tutor that I have worked with in this field during my school years.
What a great teacher. Professional and personable, perfect mix. Zak has energized me! I am hungry to learn all the software has to offer and with his training am well on my way!
